I am always being asked the difference between Marriott Aruba’s Ocean Club and Surf Club. They are adjacent to each other on the beach and although they appear to be one resort since they are so close to each other they are in fact 2 different Aruba timeshare resort on one property. There is also a hotel on property, the Stellaris hotel, spa, and Casino. The ocean club is about 1/4 the size of the Surf club, therefore preferred by families with older/adult children. Regardless of which of the 3 properties you are staying at you may use the amenities at all three including but not limited to the spa, the casino (age permitting) the bars and restaurants, playgrounds, the tennis court, gym and the kids club but you may NOT use each other’s swimming pools or Palapas in the beach area. The Surf Club has a lazy river and slides.

The accommodations are very similar at each property. The Ocean Club has Studios, in addition to one and two bedroom units. The Surf Club houses Studio’s, one, two and 12, three bedroom units all but the studios have in-unit washer/dryer probably because the property is much larger and generally accommodates larger families. Both Surf and Ocean Club have laundry facilities on each floor, just swipe your keycard and they are free to guests!

Obviously the Stellaris is a room with balcony while OC is an apartment with full kitchen, separate bedroom and balcony. Surf Club is very nice but generally lots of kids. The Surf Club is immediately off Aruba's single main road, which is lined with resort properties. This is just one installment in the Marriott's Vacation Club - to the right is the Marriott Aruba Ocean Club, and to the right of that is the Marriott Aruba Resort & Stellaris Casino, which can be reached in about five minutes on foot. Marriott Aruba Surf Club Vs Stellaris Casino Resorts

I put in an exchange request and matched to a 1BR Ocean Club week for last week of April 2021. Searching today I also see 2BR available at Surf Club for the same week, and I am still within the 24 hours and could cancel my original match and switch. Trying to decide if I should?
It will only be my wife and I for our anniversary, so we don't really need the 2nd bedroom, but if Surf Club is a better option I am ok with paying the extra $99 to get the Surf Club week.
Anyone with pros/cons between these two resorts. I know Surf has the lazy river and Ocean does not. That is appealing to me, just wondering if there are other pros for Ocean.
I think if I exchange into Surf I am likely to get a garden view, where as Ocean my confirmation says OV, and I don't believe they have garden view rooms right?
